The Installation

Standard Installation

Dish location
A standard installation comprises of the dish being positioned on a south facing wall. The height of the dish will not be above the height of a standard 2 storey house which is approximately thirty feet or below. The dish also has to be within 10 metres of where the digibox is to be located.

Telephone connection
You must have an operational two way BT or cable land line telephone. The Digibox must stay connected to the telephone line for a period of 12 months. The digibox is supplied with approximately six feet of telephone cable. 

Non Standard Installation

Dish location
If the dish cannot be located on the wall, as described above, then this will be classified as a non standard installation. There will be additional charges to locate a dish on a chimney, above the roof line or if the box is further than 10 metres from the digibox. Our engineer will advise of any additional costs before the installation commences. At this point if you no longer wish to proceed, this is fine with us. You will not be charged and your Sky account will be cancelled.

Telephone connection
If your digibox is further than six feet from your telephone socket, the installer will be able to connect it with extension cables which will be chargeable. If you have your own extension cable, the installer will be more than happy to use it. If you do not wish to connect to the phone line, then a charge of £25 is payable upon installation, which is classified a non-standard installation.

Other work

If you require any further work doing, such as linking Sky to other rooms or creating extra points, you must advise us before the installation engineer is due to arrive. This will allow us to book an extended time slot to ensure the work is completed to your satisfaction. Any works not pre booked or authorised by head office will not be covered by our guarantee.
